My Friend visited me over the Holidays. She had just arrived from Uganda where she had been working for Doctors without Borders. Ellen is just one of a handful of nurses that I would trust with my life. Unfortunately, she works with Neonates, so my chances are slim that I will actually ever use her. I did work with her in the 7o's at a Regional Newborn Center in New Jersey, and she was dynamite and smart as a whip. The best they come.
So we spent the day visiting a house museum that was decorated in the Christmas Past of 1940. I fell in love with the Christmas cards of that error, and the clothing. And the music, and the toy train set around the tree. I expected Jimmy Stewart to walk in at any minute....
Then we went to see DreamGirls. I thought Eddie Murphy's acting was quite good.
Then Ellen introduced me to Gingerbread Soy Latte at Starbuck's. I become instantly addicted, and have visited Starbuck's 4 times since her visit. My only salvation is that the syrup for the Gingerbread is seasonal so I am hoping that the store will run out soon..
Thanks, Ellen. For the visit, and the Latte!
