Here comes the sun anyway....

Well, it is getting to be that time again. Time for Aroooba. Time to slather on the SPF 45 and wear a hat with a sun protective factor. This year, I have bought two shirts with an SPF of 40. They feel very soft, and cool. I suspect I will be putting these to good use. I am packing books that I have yet to read, along with magazines.
While all this sounds very nice; both my Mother and Mother-In-Law have sited our exact vacation days and stated that they need surgery during this time. Why they waited until now is quite obvious.
They feel left out.
My Mom is looking for a surgeon to operate on her knee, which has bothered her for years. Her Doctor says she is not a candidate for surgery. I bet if she looks hard enough she will find someone to cut her open. My Mom is overweight and 82 years old. That is a challenge in and of itself.
My Mother-In-Law claims to have a leaking aneuryism. It has grown bigger "all of sudden" and she needs surgery. Please note that she has had this for several years. Whether or not she really has one is debatable. It leaks when an important event is coming up. In this case she wants to ruin my husband's vacation. If it were truly as bad as she claims, they would have operated a long time ago.
She is 83 and a drinker and a smoker.
Both these women have never truly been sick. They should have come with me to the transplant meeting last night. The head of our committee is in the hospital with a tumor that has blown her stomach up. A little girl was present who is waiting for another kidney, since her kidney/pancreas transplant didn't work from the get go, and she was in ICU for 55 days. She has a trach scar to prove it.
Life is precious.
Life is worth living.
We are going on vacation anyway.....
