Hubby and I took a visit to the Grounds for Sculptor exhibit in NJ. It sits on 35 acres of beautiful land. Mr. Johnson, heir to J&J, makes sculptors using the figures from famous paintings. And you can touch the pieces! They become part of the landscape. The boat in the picture of my website is really sculptor!
It was beautiful weather and a beautiful day! Here's another example:

Anybody sense this other than me???
Bushie Baby is going to sign a ban on partial abortions.....
Jeb Bushie is ordering the Florida women to have her feeding tube reinserted..
Whether or not you agree with abortion or the right to die is not the issue here.
Whether you want the government to decide your rights as a human being citizen of the US is another issue not to be taken lightly.
What if something happens to one of us...like an illness. The government may decide whether or not you have the right to certain procedures to make you better.
What if you are a 70 year old who needs a heart transplant? What if you love life, and want to live, but the government decides you are too old for this procedure?
My previous Medical Director of Pulmonary Medicine had a mother who lived in Britain. At the time of her illness, a law was effective in Britain stating that anyone over the age of 60 could not be placed on a ventilator. The women had pulmonary disease and was denied the right to have assisted breathing. She died.
Is this the direction we are headed?
I fear that we may be losing our rights to proper medical treatment which will be decided by the government. Just one big HMO encompassing all insurance companies.
I shutter to think where this is all headed...
So Digital Painting is sailing by. Despite the fact that my teacher didn't show up yesterday. Despite the fact that the students don't speak to me (I'm the oldest and haven't a clue to life-so they think). In order to finish this course, I have to paint a piece of a classic work of art, in this case a Cezanne. Divided pieces supplied by teacher. He will assemble them together and create the whole picture as the students are finished with the segments. I think I am finished with this piece, and would have had this checked off in my requirements folder, but the teach was a no show.
So, we had a substitute who filled in. I get the distinct feeling that she isn't too pleased with my teacher. Well, I kind of like him. He's a potter. How could she not like a potter?
Anyway, the projects left for me are: Paint two apples, paint a landscape, paint an advertisement, and do an independent project.
Yuck. I dare to think that this may just interfere with my Holiday shopping and cookie making. And it may interfere with my Yoga classes.
Yuk.
All this for only 3 credits...........
No painting for me tonite, though..
BaseBall on, plus the last show of Nip and Tuck!!!!!!!!
Today's NY Times features an article about Bush's declining popularity with older Voters. On Thursday,I had the priviledge of having lunch with several seniors. Everyone was older than 80.
The subject of Bush came up. And no, I didn't start it. I just listened. Here is a sample of what I heard:
"I can't stand him"
"Everyday more and more of our boys are getting killed"
"Just how are we gonna get out of there, and when are they bringing our boys home?"
"I hope he doesn't get re-elected"
"He lied to us"
Hmmmm, this table discussion could have been said by any age group. I was proud of them, I must say.
They were smart.
They were current.
They vote.
Mr. Bush, be afraid. Be very afraid.......
After all, Halloween is almost here, so I had to do something..

She didn't even cry when I stuffed her into the pumpkin..(wink..)
anyone know how to get rid of adult themed ad comments on my blog site??
I'm not interested in enlarging anything, nor doing anything weird with somebody weird...
I thought spam in emails were a pain, but now I'm getting them in my comments...gross...
hmmmm,
Digital Painting class is not as easy as it seems. I'm beginning to doubt why I just didn't audit the class. It requires alot more hours than I care to put into it. And the lab hours are so not convenient. Lab hours on Wednesday are 5pm-6pm. By the time to get your locked-under-key stylus for the drawing tablet, sign in, turn on the computer, and assemble all your work 15 minutes has gone by. I'm just not likin' this class. Bah, Humbug..
It looks like the Columbus day parade will be a wash out. Supposed to rain tomorrow. My sister was going to have a party while we all stood outside and watched the festivities. Well, maybe the weather will have a change of heart, and smile down on the parade floats!
Speaking of my sister, we celebrated her birthday by going to Atlantic City. I had fun on the nickel slot machines, but didn't win. Again. But we did have fun, which is what birthdays are supposed to be about!
Have a great Columbus Day-no matter what the weather.
Oh, I have school on Monday.....no rest for the weary....
It's freezing here in NJ. Its only October 5, and we seem to be heading right into Winter. Besides the normal whitening of my fingers and toes, my left hand has become difficult to move when I awaken. Is it the beginnings of arthritis? If it is, well I don't welcome it. This hurts like hell. I am craving warmth. The cold seeps right from the bottom floor and through the rug. I can see myself wearing those elastic beige gloves pretty darn soon...
Roy being bitten by a tiger. Went right towards his throat. Now he's on a ventilator. The neck is a highly vascular region, and I suspect he lost alot of blood. Here's hoping to a recovery. If you've ever had a chance to see the glossy act in LV, its pure showmanship. The tigers really are beautiful, but I suspect that Roy may be wearing his cod piece in another area the next time. If there is a next time. Maybe its time to retire..
Arnold and the women harassment issue. I wouldn't be surprised if he got elected. This recall seems like one big circus anyway..
I heard a couple of young women discuss the future of women's fashion. Young women, that is. The easy impressionable ones. Expect more in-your-face dressing. Lots of cleavage, higher skirts, no underwear. Kind of a bordello look.
I once asked a guy what he thought of Rachel Welsh. In the early 70's, at the height of her fame. You know, the era when she starred in the caveman movie, and wore fur and boots. He said she scared him. I wonder what the proposed fashion looks will do for guys? Does this look scare them? Do they like the in-your-face look and attitude that goes with it?
None of these thoughts have anything to do with the other (I don't think). I'm just trying to exercise my hands and keep them from being frozen. And, yes, the heat is on...
Saw three movies yesterday: The Pianist, The Quiet American and Bowling for Columbine. All three were very sad....and very real...
Anyway, why hasn't anyone picked up on how fantastic Brendan Fraser is? Anyone but me see Gods and Monsters??? This guy is one great actor!!
